On Sunday, June 12, Becoming DC held its monthly open Circle of Connection at the National Arboretum in Washington, DC. For 10 years they group has been coming together to support connection to deity, the elements, to learn more about and connect with themselves, the group, the world that surrounds us, and the Divine. The group holds an Open Circle and Potluck on the second Sunday of the month, as well as classes and open seasonal rituals.
The current focus of the classes, which are held immediately before the ritual, is the elements. Prior to Sunday’s ritual, participants in the Water element class created herb and oil infused potions with the intention of deepening their personal connections with the Divine.
Sunday’s ritual honored the elements, allowed participants to honor their chosen deity or spirits as well as the divine within each group member. The ritual also included a group working that incorporated the element of water and reinforced the earlier teachings and workings of the day.
After the ritual, participants always share a meal together, confirming the connections made with each other and the spirit of community.
Becoming’s next public event is their Light of Summer Ritual, to be held on Sunday, June 26 from 1PM to 4PM. For more information go to becomingdc.org.
