Northern Virginia Shows Pagan Pride Tomorrow in Occoquan

Northern Virginia Pagan Pride Day, a part of an annual, global festival, will be held tomorrow in Occoquan Regional Park in Lorton.  Festival organizers proclaim this to be the "best year yet" with workshop topics such as medicine wheel and divination systems, as well as a class on money magick by beloved area author Dorothy Morrison.

In addition to the workshops, festival goers can also expect to participate in a variety of diverse rituals.  The William Blake Lodge of the O.T.O. will be performing a Thelemic opening rite, an Asatru (Northern Tradition) group by Eplagarðr Kindred will lead a harvest ceremony, and the PPD planning team will facilitate a closing ritual with drumming and a spiral dance.

Festival goers should come prepared to spend the whole day at this free event and bring camp chairs or a picnic blanket to sit on.  With nearly thirty tables of vendors and groups, it would be a good idea to bring some spending money, too.

Capitalwitch.com will be present at the event, and you can pick up some of our printed materials and other goodies near the main registration table.  Stop by and say hi to one of our friendly staff members.  We will be writing a full review on the event and will have that posted early next week.

Full Disclosure: PNC-DC Bureau Chief David Salisbury is the local coordinator for the 2011 Northern Virginia Pagan Pride Day.
