Pagan Community Center Launches with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Please share with loveThe Open Hearth Foundation observed the official launch of DC's Pagan Community Center on New Year's Eve with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a midnight countdown party. The center at 1502 Massachusetts Ave. SE is one of only a few Pagan community centers in the country. More than a decade in the making, the launch of the center marks a very tangible progress point in modern Pagan history.

The DC Pagan community center is approximately 1,700 square feet and includes two rentable spaces: a large rectangular room, and a small room (which also houses the Pagan lending library).  Prices are set to compete with other rental properties that Pagan organizers often rent from, including hotels and conference centers. The center has 70 folding chairs and 13 folding tables on hand for use by groups or individuals who use the center.  There are two refrigerators, as many Pagan events include food in some form or fashion. The space includes a snack bar and kitchen sink, as well as a full bathroom.

Over the past year, PNC-DC has been covering the progress of the center's search for space, finalization and launch. This post marks the conclusion of this monumental project's coverage, though we will continue to cover the many exciting events that will happen there in the years to come.
