What is SOPA and PIPA?
SOPA is a piece of SHouse legislation that stands for "Stop Online Piracy Act" and PIPA is its Senate counterpart. Together, these pieces of legislation will work to combat what the government sees as all forms of online piracy.
Why do we care?
SOPA and PIPA are dangerous to online media for a variety of reasons. No one endorses "piracy", but this broad legislation has the ability to crush innovative online progress in technology advancement, creative production, and even online reporting.
